300,000 Kids are Playing CampPete.com
Posted 3/8/2010 by Kim Wilson

Coach Pete Carroll’s online community has already grown to half the size of his new city. More than 300,000 kids have registered to play his online game, CampPete.com – compared to the 600,000 who live in the city of Seattle. It’s an impressive stat for a Web site that’s been online less than a year.

Make no mistake, Coach Carroll isn’t a stranger to technology. He was once called the ‘coolest 57-year-old kid in Los Angeles.’ He was one of the first head coaches with his own Web site, the first to embrace Facebook, the first on Twitter, and it only makes sense that Coach Carroll was also the first Coach to have his own Online World for Kids: CampPete.com.

www.CampPete.com is a ground-breaking Web site aimed at bringing Coach Carroll’s unique “Win Forever” philosophy to kids all over the country by taking advantage of one of the hottest technology trends online, the virtual world. “Win Forever” is a concept Coach Carroll plans to take nationwide with the release of a new book this year.

At www.CampPete.com, kids can customize their own football player then explore a massive football fantasy land filled with games, videos and adventures. You could even call it the “healthy video game!” Coach Carroll believes in getting young people active so he’s made sure kids can earn points INSIDE the game for exercise they do in REAL LIFE!

Coach Carroll created this site for kids of all ages. In additional to teaching teamwork, leadership and healthy habits, Coach Carroll teaches football basics appropriate for kids as young as age 5.  And there are more advanced football techniques for older kids.

Kids can play for FREE or upgrade to MVP Membership. A portion of all proceeds goes to support Coach Carroll’s community outreach program, A Better LA.  Go to www.CampPete.com for details.  And watch out, if you play the game too long, Coach Carroll might just pop up and tell you to go get some exercise!
